I have been wanting to make a weave that imitates embroidery--especially an isolated motif, surrounded by a plainweave ground. Not a whole row of x and o's. I've been looking around at weaves and embroideries, and also staring into space a lot, while I wait for the idea to form up. Swedish dukagang caught my attention most recently. I don't know if that can be a simplified weaveSusannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242093056074680020.post-14645399870337096462009-07-28T09:21:53.012-05:002009-07-28T09:21:53.012-05:00Beautiful use of the rosepath patterning amongst t...Beautiful use of the rosepath patterning amongst the plainweave. I thought at first that the x's made by the rosepath were embroidered on! I really love this piece, Susan. The colors, the "fever", as you say :) It looks like a wonderful piece to touch. And I love that you hang pieces from the ceiling! I can see this as a very cool woven alternative to a bunting, if you hung it over a doorway or something.Brittany | the Home Groundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12102284763530010289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242093056074680020.post-48977207189527620712009-07-28T07:42:52.639-05:002009-07-28T07:42:52.639-05:00I love the inspirations of summer as well, so much...I love the inspirations of summer as well, so much is abundant. I like the Rosepath among other designs, it seems so nicely textured.Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12023395690217983387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242093056074680020.post-38648810906990566042009-07-27T17:28:43.674-05:002009-07-27T17:28:43.674-05:00eek, a bat!
