Mr. Falk

Our good neighbor, Mr. Falk, died.  His obituary was very short, and sweet:

Carl Fabian “Doc” Falk Sr., age 85 of Avalanche, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010.

Doc was born June 14, 1923. He lived a very modest and simple life. He had a very unique love for animals and gardening instilled in him.

He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

Doc, Rest in peace. Love, your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his pets.

A beautiful posting, Susan. My thoughts are that a simple life is not that easy to achieve nowadays, but much to be desired.
We are not what we do, which is hard to realise in a goal-oriented world.
The scenery is lovely. Is that your friend's house? Fran in Calgary

Frand, thanks for reading. Yes, this is his house. I walk by it often on the quarry hill road, but we spoke only a few times over the years. He grew roses, & had an old dog. It seems strange that he isn't there now.

It seems fitting to have a short but loving obituary, when you live your life simply and wholeheartedly. Thank you for sharing! Thank you for visiting my blog recently. I am glad to have discovered your blog and etsy shop - your work is beautiful!
