Stuff (in which I finally find a way to use the word ineffable)

Noticed this week. The cat in action, trying to connect with my head as I carry the laundry basket out to the line, some rusty gates still hanging on the back of the shed, the poppy show at the empty farmhouse along my bike ride. I've finally started a new square scarf on the loom, an idea that has persisted for at least a year now, especially after staring into these wonderful pictures far too long. I love my iPad. And last, my tape to measure the real stuff of life, the ineffable, the hard stuff to measure. Good Day!

I love the blue and gray squares on the loom.
But I am in love with that tape. Lovely.

i can image you staring
in this magical world of old images
they are beautiful!
as is your tape
like Hilary: i am in love!
will it be for sale in your shop?

Hilary, thank you. You should try weaving one of your own. I'm sure you have a few ineffables to measure.

Thank you, too. Those N. Swedish images are so raw, they just pull me in. It's a large archive.
About the tapes. The first ones were just an experiment, but now I'm making them with a clear idea. I think they are connecting to other people's imaginations too, not just something for me. So I will be putting them for sale soon. Thanks for being so encouraging always

ineffable, well I am glad I now know what it means and that there is such a word...the tape for measuring the ineffable is itself beautiful beyond words

Saskia, or how we might be measuring things that don't really matter, and ignoring the things that do. I'm always interested, as an artist. In the question posed by Elvis Costello's lyric,
What shall we do , what shall we do. With all this useless beauty?

notice it I suppose.....

Saskia, yes...and make art with it!
