Lazy, all my life. Even my name, Susan. Lazy Susan. I used to protest, but I know it fits me. Lazy is my nature. The adage long thread, lazy girl
chastises the girl that puts too long a thread in her needle, so she won't have to rethread so often. I habitually try to get away with doing less.
And yet, I manage to work productively, even happily. Cursing when my long thread knots, and I have to rethread anyway. Weaving and needling paper rya knots today, dipping the Finnish paper yarn in water, watching the morning sun light filtered through the paper petals I'm weaving. Lazily.
if lazy makes something so beautiful then lazy is something to strive for. ha thats funny....striving to be lazy
Great pics of peaceful weaving.
i always think of myself as lazy, too. i'm beginning to suspect it's ok, just different, like a learning disability.
Let's all agree to call it a virtue
Words like meditative, contemplative, reflective, productive, and creative, come to mind, when I think of your work; never 'lazy'. Kind regards.
If your work is because of being lazy than please send some serious lazy down to me, I need all the help I can collect. I love the rya flowers in this panel very beautiful.
Well, thank you all. And, I do hope I'm not boring you with my fixation on the paper weaving. But, this is a state of mind question, too. Mine is exactly the same thing as when I was 6 or 7, sitting in the middle of a lilac clump, whittling sticks with a pocket knife my mom let me carry. I would call it free. Happy.
From one Susan to another... lazy is a wonderful state of mind.
Lazy goes with summer!!!!! It is a virtue, I agree
I have craved nothing more than to be lazy this summer. And have, unfortunately, not been... Perhaps you will inspire me to be lazy in the coming weeks!
I love this particular rya weaving, the addition of that grey is perfect. Beautiful work.
It is absolutly superb!!
I whant to try to make it, if it is ok with you?
