Robert Frost is such a good name for a winter poet.
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Robert Frost

love this post...both in words and images!
vibeke,
thank you. I like the poem because it seems not to take the end of the world too seriously. And I love the elements of fire and ice
susan, have you read anything by the swedish poet tomas tranströmer?
i think you would like him...
by heck susan, you've gotta lotta snow there! love the photo of the cat in the snow! I had a gorgeous marmalade boy years ago who loved playing in the snow. He'd tap, tap, tap snowballs between his front paws. Very cute! Stay warm!
vibeke,
thanks for telling me about Tomas Transtromer. I read some poems and do like them
Jan, Marmalade boy. I never heard that before, but I like it.
