It had been a sultry day, thick air, and then storms. Suddenly the house filled with an amazing light. We went out into the yard and saw this show above us.

Judy, it's always an artistic question for me, what are we to do with all this useless beauty? The Elvis Costello lyric sticks in my brain! Can we value something that seems to have no use? Does it have to be useful to be valued?Can't beauty (whatever that is) simply be?Are we obliged to do anything with it at all? i do wonder
