blue rail

So much for summer.  Blue railing,  Amelia Bassano Lanier, most likely the true author of Shakespeare, benignity, continency, Lowell Observatory, Bill Pike harvests his honey, linen on the line, and Mina Perhonen, too hot.

Lowell Observatory, as in Percival Lowell, as in Flagstaff, Arizona?!!!??

NurseD, Yes, in Flagstaff. I love that place and got a boatload of pictures there, too,but
settled on the green welded door. I'd have liked being an astronomer. Surprisingly to me there have been quite a few important women astronomers

When were you in Flagstaff? Recently?

You were just here! Gosh, if I had known, I would have offered you a cuppa something!

Is your cat named Mina Perhonen?
I just went to the website and watched most of a beautiful video about the hand made and a day in the life of their factory in japan.
Time time time.

Judy, Yes. Mina Perhonen. She has an orange fur butterfly shape on her back, and Mina Perhonen translates from Finnish to "My Butterfly" It is my favorite fashion house, with its combined Japanese-Finnish aesthetic, an affinity I've always noticed. My mother's family is Finnish and she would always say something in Finnish, if she happened to stub her toe, that sounded like Perhonen. Only, it might have been a Finnish sound a like word for "shit"...
